Fox on setting the World Record in 2002... |
A
9th-grader from ThunderRidge High School in Highlands Ranch,
Colorado shattered her own world stacking record on April
6th,2002 - breaking 8 seconds in the Cycle stack. With
three stop watches and a video camera on her, Emily Fox,
whose previous record was 8.35 seconds, hit a 7.43 in the
Cycle.
“After taking 3rd
in the 3-6-3, I was determined to come back in the Cycle,” Emily
said. “My first run was really slow, but I hit a 7.5
on my second run, so I knew I had beat the record. On my
third try I went all out and did it in 7.43 seconds. That’s
my best ever!” |

| A
bit about Emily's history... |
Besides
sport stacking, Emily's passionate about basketball,
and her stacking skills have translated into her having
been one of the top point guards for her age in the state
during her highschool years. Emily
attributed her strong left- and right-hand ball-handling
skills and quickness as a point guard directly to stacking. Her
ball handling skills started being noticed by college coaches
when she was in 8th-grade.
Also
while in high school, Emily played on a competitive basketball
team and traveled around the country to tournaments. She
was a starter on her high school varsity team beginning
as a freshman. She
was featured on a Nickelodeon segment that showed
her breaking the World Record in the Cycle.
She
is a top student, who besides stacking and playing basketball,
loves to water-ski. She is also a juggler and can ride
a 7-foot unicycle. |

Fox & the Guinness Book of World Records... |
| The Guinness World Records 2006 has

| Where
is Emily Fox now? |
Emily is currently a freshman
at the University of Minnesota. As a scholarship athlete,
Emily will play for the Golden Gophers Womens Basketball
Team.
When
she was a high school senior, she helped lead her Colorado
high school team to its third consecutive state basketball
championship. Emily did not compete in the 2005 World Sport
Stacking Championships due to a conflict with basketball,
however she did try to break her world record in the Cycle
during the Opening Ceremonies.
With
TV cameras zoomed in and a Guinness representative on hand,
her best attempt was 7.55 seconds—just shy of the
7.43 world record. Because of NCAA eligibility rules, Emily’s
visibility with Speed Stacks and sport stacking will be
limited during her four-year college career.

Emily Fox takes on sports reporter in Minneapolis... |
World
sport stacking record holder Emily Fox thought she headed
to Minnesota to play basketball, but her sport stacking
skills have also generated a lot of interest.
Sports
reporter Eric Perkins from the NBC affiliate KARE-TV, featured
Emily in a story where he tried his best (but with little
success) to match her stacking prowess in a popular segment
called “Perk’s Play.”
On
the basketball court, Emily is off to a positive start
playing for the University of Minnesota. The Minnesota
Star-Tribune featured the freshman on the front page
of its November 14th sports page after her strong showing
in the Gopher’s second exhibition game noting Emily’s “flying
ponytail and flashy open-court game.” |
