New Overall World Record set in Doubles Event
Luke Myers, from Eden Prairie, Minnesota has become a familiar face in households across the country with his sport stacking television ad for the "incredible edible egg™". Now the world class sport stacker can add another honor to his list of sport stacking accomplishments. He and his stacking partner, Tyler Cole, from London, Ontario, Canada are the proud owners of a new overall world record for Doubles.
The pair of 14-year-olds hit 7.47 seconds at the WSSA Tri-State Sport Stacking Championships held on September 19, 2009 in Quincy, Illinois. The previous Doubles record of 7.58 seconds was set at the 2009 WSSA World Sport Stacking Championships by brothers Steven and Andrew Purugganan.
The Tri-State Tournament, which hosted 161 stackers primarily from Illinois, Iowa and Missouri was also the site of four other world records in specific age divisions. Both Tyler and Luke added individual records in their 14-year-old age division--Tyler in the Individual 3-3-3 with a time of 1.91 seconds and Luke in the Individual 3-6-3 at 2.28 seconds. A new Doubles world record for stackers 10U was also set by Chase Werfel and Matt Kosikowski with a time of 8.25 seconds. And a new world record was set in the 4U division in the Cycle stack by Michael Haig with a time of 15.84. In addition, 5 national records were set as well as 37 state and provincial records from IL, MO, MN, MI, TN, OH and Ontario.
